I Need Barcode (ineedbarcode.com) is a free barcode and QR Code generator operated by Abid Hanan Wicaksono. This policy explains what data we process when you use this website and how we handle it. We deliberately collect as little data as possible: you do not need to register, log in, or provide your name and email address to use this service.
Data we process
- Barcode content. The text, links, WiFi details, contacts, and other data you enter are processed directly in your browser. Barcode images are created on your device and are not sent to our servers, including when you create many barcodes at once.
- Location. The "Use my location" button only requests your device's location after you allow it in your browser. The coordinates are only filled into the form field and are not sent to us.
- Approximate country. To choose the initial language, this website may read your approximate country from the request to our server. This information is not stored in a database.
- Technical data. Like almost every website, our hosting provider (Vercel) logs technical request data, such as IP address, browser type, and access time, for security and operational purposes. These logs are only kept temporarily in accordance with Vercel's policies.
- Article statistics. If enabled, views, likes, and shares are only stored as total counts per article, without any data that identifies you.
Cookies and browser storage
- inbLang: remembers the language you selected on this device (localStorage).
- inbCountry: stores your approximate country for one session so the language does not need to be looked up again (sessionStorage).
- Other local storage (localStorage and sessionStorage): marks articles you have liked and prevents a single visit from being counted twice. This data stays on your device.
- Third-party analytics cookies from Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, described below.
Analytics
We use analytics tools to understand how the website is used and to improve it. These tools are only loaded after you begin interacting with the page, and are not loaded at all if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal. Barcode content and form content are never sent to analytics tools; only events such as the barcode type selected and download button clicks are recorded.
- Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC): uses cookies to measure pages viewed, approximate country, device type, and the events above. Advertising storage and Google Signals are disabled. Data is processed by Google in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy.
- Microsoft Clarity: records interactions such as clicks and scrolling for heatmaps and session recordings, and masks the content of input fields. Data is processed by Microsoft in accordance with the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
You can opt out of analytics by enabling Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, blocking third-party cookies in your browser settings, using a tracker blocker, or installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. The website remains fully usable.
Third-party services
- Vercel Inc. provides hosting. Its servers may be located outside Indonesia.
- Google Fonts is used to display certain scripts (for example Arabic, Thai, or Japanese). When the fonts are loaded, your IP address is visible to Google.
- Share buttons (WhatsApp, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Telegram) and social media links only contact those services when you click them.
Security and data sharing
All connections to this website use HTTPS. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data. Data is only shared with the service providers above to the extent necessary to operate the website, or where required by law.
Children
This service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Your rights
Under Law No. 27 of 2022 on Personal Data Protection, you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and to withdraw your consent to processing. Because we store almost no data that identifies you, most requests can be resolved simply by clearing cookies and site data in your browser.
